Training for my very full race schedule this summer starts in a week and a half. In preparation for that, I've been "running" very slowly and very carefully on the treadmill, elliptical, and taking it as easy as I can to prep my knee for the heavy training coming it's way.
I did my first all outdoor run since September of last year on Wednesday - 4 miles, nice and slow and my knee hung in there! Today I did 8 miles all outside (also slowly), and my knee is a little tender but doesn't hurt. YES! I need to continue rolling, icing, and stretching to keep it up for the next 8 months.
I am very encouraged and I can't wait to try out my new triathlon bike. I might take it out for a spin this afternoon. I will definitely take it out tomorrow. I want to see how it handles on the hill. Plus, I need to start bike training if I want to do well in my triathlons this summer.
Bring on the training!
