Christmas list

Even though this christmas I won't be able to use any workout gear right away (if I receive it), it's still my #1 thing I would like for Christmas. Workout gear! Because only one month after christmas I will be out there getting back into shape! Here's my list (in case any loved ones are reading) of things I would REALLY like to get this December 25th.

Brooks Glycerin 9 (women's size 9)

Runningskirts.com has this GREAT athletic skirt. Size 2, please.

I am really in need of some new athletic sunglasses. I love these in pink (since my hubs won't steal pink ones to wear!)

Race Entry Fee!!! What a great gift.

Swim suit! I am in need of a new competitive swim suit or 2 with olympic tri's and a 70.3 in my sights. Who wouldn't want a grab bag from swimoutlet.com? (speedo or tyr, size 32)

I also kind of love this running top from pearl izumi. (size small)

Seriously, check out the back:

That about covers it for now, since I already have a stock of Gu's ready and waiting for some new training! (I'm sure I'll think of more stuff later. I can always think of new stuff to buy!!)

What do YOU want for Christmas?

1 step forward, 3 steps back

Workout: 23 minutes elliptical, 30 minutes treadmill @ 3.5 mph & 3% incline.

Anyone else having a problem getting dailymile.com to load? Just me? For the last 3 days it hasn't worked at all.

Sitting at 32 weeks pregnant with only 8 weeks to go and I'm just now realizing that maybe I should slow down a little. I'm trying to do too many things and I don't like saying "no" when asked to help with something and you get a situation like last night.

I was teaching a pie crust class to ladies at church, and made 3 of the pies for the dessert that night as well.

After a full day of taking care of kids, getting a new drivers license (kill me), making pies, cleaning up after making pies, trying to ignore my obviously sore throat which is marking the beginning of sickness, and desperately wanting to take a nap but not having time, I arrived at the church last night exhausted and not feeling well before anything started!

after being there for 3 hours and standing up the whole time, my back was aching, my throat felt like someone had sandpapered it, and I was about in full meltdown collapse at that point. I realized (and my husband is pressuring me) to cancel the help I offered for our yearly Christmas party at church, and start saying "NO" to things until after I have this baby and recover a little.

I think I just have a hard time convincing myself that people dont' need my help and that they can do fine without me. Or maybe I don't like to think that. Or maybe I don't like thinking I CAN'T do everything. Last night was eye-opening for me in terms of taking it easy for the last 8 weeks. I'm dreading this email I'm going to send saying that I can't help with the Christmas party after all.

Gym clothes

Workout today: 10 minutes elliptical, 15 minutes treadmill 2% incline, 10 minutes recumbent bike.

I love it when people go to the gym and are obviously new to the scene and trying to lose weight. I say GO TEAM!!!! Get out there are DO IT!!!

However. When people show up to the gym in their work clothes - not work OUT clothes, but clothes they will then go to work in - and ballet flats, I have a really hard time taking them seriously. Just like the girls that go to the gym with their long hair done, down, and full on makeup heading to the treadmill. Doesn't all that hair get in their face? Don't they sweat??

Anyway, this is my lunch today:

Loaded salad! 1/2 head romaine, 1 tomato, 1/2 bell pepper, 1 cucumber, 1 hard boiled egg, some cheese, 3 slices turkey bacon, some croutons, and 1 avocado.

I'm hoping that will in some way make up for the HUGE slice of apple pie I will be eating after that. haha!

Happy Birthday

to ME! I turned 30 on Saturday and the worst thing about it? I am now in a more difficult/competitive age group for races!

That's the only downside I can think of.

I used to be able to have a shot at placing in my age group when I was in the 25-29 range. Now that's I'm in the 30-34, I can pretty much kiss the AG awards goodbye. Unless I morph into a superhuman after I have this baby and completely surprise myself.

Goals:
I have a 5K in mind for after I have this baby. It's around March 10-ish or so which would give me a little less than 2 months after giving birth to get back into shape - on some level. But I just "signed up" for The Boring Runner's virtual 5K on January 28th! That's going to be about a week after the baby's born. yikes. I'm not winning any speed records on that one, but if I can get on a treadmill and walk 3.1 miles a mere 8 days after having a baby?? I think that's pretty awesome.

At this point (31 weeks), I am down to about 3-4 days a week "working out" when all I really want to do is sleep. Trying to stay motivated and it's getting really hard since I'm so slow that no one wants to go walking with me. Or biking for that matter. I am SO slow now. 9 weeks left.

ouch.

So after being so excited that my tummy pains went away and I was able to jog a little more and walk a lot less, they are back with a vengeance!!!

What up with that belly?!

I think it's hilarious that I'm wearing my normal (non-maternity) yoga pants in the above picture at 30 weeks pregnant! they are size small from gap. and SUPER stretchy.

Today I headed out for a shorter 2.3 mile jaunt and I could barely walk up the hills without having stabbing, pinching pains on the right side of my tummy. darn it!!!  I'm wondering if I should set up my trainer semi-permamently in the "office/baby's room/library" until the end and just give up on the walk/jogging?

Good news? at least I clean up pretty well!

And I turn 30 on Saturday, so if you want to send presents, email me and I'll give you an address!!! hahahaha!!!

darn that scale!

I had a Dr. appointment yesterday and got stuck by 2 different needles (glucose test and rhogam shot). They also weighed me. aaahhhhhh!!!!!

29 weeks and 144 pounds. yikes.

And a HUGE container of Halloween candy looking me in the eye every time I go into the kitchen.

If I hadn't gotten pregnant, I would be in taper mode for my marathon which is in 12 days. I'm a little sad when i think about it. And it's hard to remember that in 3 months, I will be back out there training for a race with no baby inside me anymore.  My good friend just used the Run Less, Run Faster program for a 5 minute PR on her half marathon a little bit ago. She came in at 1:48!!! I may have turned a little green while reading her race recap.

Tomorrow I will be "jogging" with 2 friends who have recently had babies and are trying to get back into shape. Hope I do okay.
