I'm coming for you Kara Goucher!!!

Today I had another Dr. appointment and my clot is shrinking and because I have had no bleeding in 2.5 weeks, my Dr. is letting me walk for 20 minutes a day for the next week!!

And then the week after that? 30 minutes a day.

and then 40 minutes a day.

Before long I'll be running a half marathon with Kara and winning. At 8 months pregnant.

Bwahahahahahaha!!!! Sorry, just couldn't hold it in!

Anyway, I'm totally pumped so I'm waking up at 6am tomorrow to WALK for 20 minutes. And I am so excited it's ridiculous. I go back in 4 weeks this time. yippee!

(oh, and I'm up 2 pounds from 2 weeks ago - sitting at 127.8 lbs  right now)

So, you might remember that I registered for my FIRST marathon right before I found out I was pregnant. Yeah, didn't plan that one!

Well I emailed the race director pronto and let him know how excited I was but didn't think I could do a marathon at 35 weeks pregnant and he graciously moved me AND my dad's registration to next year's race!!! Marathon 2012 - here I come! (and I'm so relieved that I didn't just lose the $90 registration fee!)

Well, there is another race I was registered for. I signed up back in December since I had so much fun doing it last year.

I figured I would just do it for fun since I'll be around 20 weeks along at this race. Until I was put on bed rest. And forbidden from exercise. So a couple days ago I email that race director and she is moving my registration to the 2012 race as well!! woohoo for not wasting another $45!!

I am SO. PUMPED. that these race directors took pity on me and are giving me 2 great races to get back into shape for after the little munchkin arrives. I'm also looking at an Olympic distance triathlon that is in late September 2012.

I'm giving cyber hugs to the wonderful directors that are giving me a second chance, and hey, I learned something as well - it never hurts to ask.

Do Life 5K

Last night my girl Teresa, her mom and I hit up the Do Life 5K in Dallas!

We got to meet the famous (and cute) blogger Ben. Do you guys remember that video that was all over Facebook a while back?? Here it is again:

Yes, he is goofy and as funny as he is on his blog.

Since I couldn't DO the 5K - lame - I hung out with Pa whose blog you can check out HERE. I can certainly see where Ben gets his height and devilishly good looks from.

Afterwards when Ben heard there was a Panera close by he swooned and we all headed there for dinner.

He signed Teresa and my shirts. woohoo!

I gotta say, it takes a lot of skill to remember as many names as this guy remembers and to listen to everyone's story genuinely interested. There are few people out there like that. Good job, Ben. And might I add, he really is freakishly tall. And I'm not short!

Can't wait for next year to run the "official" Do Life 5K and take home a trophy!!

13 weeks and swimming

Here is my current preggo picture in which I am 13 weeks (otherwise known as I look fat and not pregnant and people will just wonder if I have a gut because of all the ice cream and chocolate.),

The nausea is slightly fading and I am thoroughly enjoying all things starchy, potatoey, creamy, and chocolate. I am NOT allowed to exercise so I'm a little nervous about my next "weigh-in" at the doctor in a week and a half.

For those that know me well (all 15 of you), you know that my favorite exercise is swimming. Since I no longer have a coach and live 25 minutes away from the closest indoor pool and master's team (and have no money to pay for gas now that we are paying for a baby), I have to come up with workouts on my own. While that works most of the time, I have a great website that I enjoy when I'm not feeling particularly inspired. HERE IT IS. There are 50 different workouts with all different drills, distances, and strokes. 


Some of my go-to swim workouts include:

the infamous 5-4-3-2-1 workout. It takes me about 30-ish minutes and was given to me regularly by my high school swim coach as a warm up.
500 free
400 back
300 breast
200 IM (50 fly, 50 back, 50 breast, 50 free)
100 fly (or you can do fly drills)

And this is a classic for me:

200 free warm up, 100 kick
8x50's on the :50 (or whatever gives you 10-ish seconds rest)
100 kick
8x100's on the 1:30 (or whatever gives you 10-ish seconds rest)
buns of steel.
-25 kick sprint (rest 20 seconds)
-50 kick sprint (rest 30 seconds)
-75 kick sprint (rest 40 seconds)
-100 kick sprint (rest 50 seconds)
and then back down
-75 kick
-50 kick
-25 kick
and your legs and buns will be SCREAMING.
4X50 cool down free
=2200 yards of awesomeness.

In her shoes.

First of all, here is a pregnant picture of me at 9 weeks:

I'm almost 13 weeks now and a little thicker in the waist, but I'll take a new picture later. The doctor gave me modified bed rest so ZERO exercise of any kind and I still have to take it easy and I can't pick up my kids or anything, but I'm allowed to walk around more and cook dinner and stuff. It's a start!

Now, on to the best part of my day today!

You know it's going to be a good day when that familiar blue box comes in the mail!

If nothing else, they will sit in my closet until January when I have this little baby and then I will wear those puppies DOWN. I'm so tempted to buy another pair at that price.

Dr. appointment today!

at 2pm today I will be doing strange things at the OB/GYN office that might include urine samples, stirrups, undressing from the waist down, etc.

and HOPEFULLY I will be released from bed rest and be allowed to resume almost all normal activities. I know I won't be allowed to run, but maybe I can walk? Ride my bike? swim?

And you know what I realized? The blog will be dedicated ONCE AGAIN to gaining a hot bod after baby #4!!! Can you really be in shape after having 4 kids? Is it possible??
