well, I just finished my first run of week five of the couch to 5K challenge.
it was so much easier than last week. it's almost like I just passed the wall and am able to just go for a while and not feel like I was dying. It was GREAT. It still wasn't easy, but I am encouraged that I will be able to actually run a 5K.

I had some cookies and "bad" foods this weekend so I am renewed in my eating well challenge.
I need to incorporate more protein.

Monday and tuesday I did my couch to 5K running. I am on week four.

When I run, I feel like I want to die.

It hurts SO BAD. It is so strange that I can swim for a long time and while my muscles hurt and I get tired, I can do it. Same with biking.

When I run, my body is fighting me to continue to do what I am asking of it. My stomach goes into knots that make me want to puke. I get cramps in my side and shoulder. I can't breathe at all and feel like I'm suffocating. (although that could be the humidity.) My legs feel okay, actually.

If it hurts so bad then why am I doing it? I suppose I like torture. (kidding) This is one of the biggest challenges (physically) that I've faced. And I am certainly the type to look a challenge in the eye and say, "You can't beat me." and when someone tells me that I can't do something then I usually think to myself, I will prove you wrong.
I also really like the way runner's legs look and I want them.

I can do this.
I can do this.
I will do this.

Today I jumped to week three of the couch to 5K program at the track to actually calculate distance. I've just been running in the neighborhood and guess-timating as well as I can on time/distance.

Well, this morning's workout was WAY easier than I thought it would be. so much so that when i ws done I ran two sets of bleachers and did an abs video when I got home. I guess I've been running further than I thought.

On monday I will jump ahead to week 4 and see how that goes. if that's too easy as well, then i guess I'll jump to week five.

Still have about 5 lbs. to go.

still trucking

yesterday I went for a run again.

this morning I did the P90X core workout again - 1 hour.

tomorrow morning I would like to run one more time. I think I might go to the track so I can know how much distance I go. I can't believe how much I feel like I am gasping for air at then end of running. I am SO out of shape. BUT I've done it once before and I can do it again. consistancy is the key.

eating is going well.

It's hard to run with three little kids at home every day. Actually, it's hard to excercise with three little kids, period.

I did workout today,

but I fell off the wagon a little bit with the sweets.

However, after I ate a candy bar I didn't want anymore. I felt a little sick to my stomach, and grossed out and weak.

there is a reason healthy food is good for you. It makes you feel good!!!!

back on the wagon so I can feel better.

yesterday I did some cardio, today I did body sculpting and tomorrow I am doing the stretching P90X video.

BUT, I weighed myself today and have lost 4 pounds in the last two weeks!

weight right now is 128.

6 more pounds to go and I will be thrilled.

getting there

yesterday I did jillian michaels 30 day shred - level one.

today I went for a run after dave got home from work. 100 degree weather with 100% humidity plus not in shape yet = red face and very sweaty christine.

I started the couch to 5K program again with week one. you can find info here.
my breathing is what killed me on this. my legs felt kind of okay, but I just couldn't catch my breath at all. that's okay, I'll get there.

I had a couple PB m&m's today and they made me sick to my stomach. interesting.

So my one hour stretched itself into one 30 minute session, one 20 minute session, and one 10 minute session today.

I did it all and I am FEELING it today. holy cow!

Can I say that I love those videos? I've only done two but they are just fantastic. I love all the stretching/yoga moves in there, the random bits of cardio, the sculpting excercises they do. I mean, really - wow. I also love that they are an hour. I WANT my heart rate up for an hour. I don't like that every other video out there is like 10-20 minutes long. that's not long enough for me!

I recommend these to everyone (but they are not for beginners). love them.

monday I did levels one and two of my biggest loser cardio video and ab sculpting pilates - for a total of one hour.

today I did kempo from the P90X videos - 1 hour.

I am SORE from yesterday but feel really good.

I have broken my sweet tooth candy/dessert addiction (woohoo!), and now eat fruit when I want sweets. my portion control is going well and the lbs. are coming off.

this morning I got my board shorts on for swimming!!!! YAY!!! when Ty was 2.5 weeks old I couldn't pull them up past my thighs.

things are going well. I have until October 10 to lose the last of the weight (my brother is getting married and I will be in pictures!)
